If you have ever heard of “Opencardgate” you definitely know about its lengthy problems and the occasional inability to buy time coupons. Currently, it is mainly problem-free, so feel free to use it. You can do so by buying time coupons in the e-shop or at the nearest Prague metro booth.

Buying  via e-shop and validating

Buying the coupons in e-shop is a little bit tricky in the sense, that there is one more step to be done. You have to visit a validator and insert a card. Then the coupon will upload to the card and validator will show you information about your purchased tariff and date of its expiration. In a couple of seconds, the system informs you, that the upload was successful and you can take your card and now, nothing is holding you from fully using the services of Prague mass transit.
